After successful completion of electronic waste collection, repair, refurbish, and recycling, extracting of precious metals for reuse in electronic hardware spare parts is performed. This upgrades old and repaired devices, ensuring a circular economy and reducing environmental impact.

RepairX promotes circular economy processes, encourages sustainable consumption, and aims to prevent waste while keeping resources in use for as long as possible. The circular economy presents a more sustainable model where resources are minimally extracted and extensively reused through multiple processes like recycling, remanufacturing, redistribution, repair, and refurbishment, aiming to keep resources in use as long as possible and minimize waste. RepairX actively supports this model by focusing on repair and refurbishment services to prolong product lifespans, thereby contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) vision of 2030 for “Responsible Consumption and Production.” This model not only reduces waste but also emphasizes the continual use of resources, promoting environmental sustainability. Since our journey began in 2018, we have successfully prevented electronic waste by repairing and refurbishing over 2 million hardware devices using our private label spare parts, branded under the name SH.

This resulted in avoiding more than 5 million tons of electronic waste that would have required an average of 1500 kWh of electricity, resulting in massive CO2 emissions of over 600 kg. CO2 is known to be a health hazard that increases pollution-related health diseases such as COPD and heart disease.

We successfully averted more than 22.5 Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs), meaning that avoiding the recycling of 5 tons of electronic waste can potentially prevent the loss of about 22.5 years of healthy life among the affected population.
